Our Story

Helping communities evolve, strive and thrive.

At Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company, we believe quality education is a human right, and the earlier historically under-served people are exposed and immersed in quality education and living opportunities, the better the entire world can operate.  We exist to disrupt the denial of equitable education to people who have been historically underserved by zip code of geography, gender, race/nationality/color/creed, socioeconomic status, age, and housing circumstance.

Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company is the unifying voice for the community. In science phasis is defined as a manner, stage, or aspect of being; phase. Our mission is to help transform lives through the various aspects, stages or phases people are currently in, and use education as a means or catalyst to help them elevate to a new phase - arriving at a better quality of life. Disrupting areas of inequity is necessary in order to make that a reality long-term.

Our Model & Philosophy

Placemaking Equitable Solutions in Public Spaces

WHAT IF EVERYONE HAD ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION?

WHAT IF WE BUILT OUR COMMUNITIES AROUND PLACES & FAMILIAR SPACES?

As both an overarching idea and a hands-on approach for improving a neighborhood, city, or region, placemaking inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community.

Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company has a commitment to strengthening the connection between people and the places they share, while driving child well-being and dismantling barriers of access for eduation and health. For us, placemaking refers to a collaborative process by which we can shape our public realm in order to maximize shared value and transform lives.

More than just promoting better urban design, placemaking facilitates creative patterns of use, paying particular attention to the physical, cultural, and social identities that define a place and support its ongoing evolution.

With community-based participation at its center, what we understand and promote is that an effective placemaking process capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential, and it results in the creation of quality public spaces that contribute to people's health, happiness, and well-being transforming it into a space where everyone can share its value.

Help us transform more everyday places into spaces of equity, inclusion and a better way of life.

WHO WE ARE

Meet Our Founder/CEO

Josette Hutton Evans, the award-winning Founder and CEO of Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company, is a trailblazer for reaimaging how public spaces can be transformed into solutions that dismantle inequities in education and health.  The granddaughter of an elementary school teacher and daughter of an architect and computer engineer, she comes equipped with the tools necessary to build solutions that transform students and communities. Josette is also a Certified Six Sigma Leader, having spent two decades in corporate tech where she developed a penchant for quality improvement and logistics.

Josette is passionate about child well-being and helping the adults in their lives identify resources that are attainable, affordable, and replicable at home. Seeing a need to refine the roadmap to equity and success, she founded Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company 18 years ago as a college student.

A proud wife and mom of three, Josette's inspiration are her children, the long line of educators in her family, and women leaders like Shirley Chisholm. She heeds the call to find solutions rather than sit on the sidelines of injustice. Josette believes everyone has the right to quality education and a safe community in which they can live, work and play. She envisions a world where people not only survive, but thrive.

WHAT WE DO

Vision

Through strategic relationships, we envision a world where children are safe, have stable connections to their family and community, and grow up to be healthy, educated, and employable. Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company transforms communities by connecting people with resources to drive sustainable change in their family and beyond.

WHY WE DO IT

Mission

Turn everyday places into public learning classrooms to equip youth for pathways to success, support healthy family foundations, and help communities thrive where historically underserved citizens live, work, and play to close the gap of education equity.

MOVING FORWARD

Our 2020-2025 Goals

  • Increase our ability to transform everyday places and highways into public learning classrooms through a regional mobile classroom on wheels supporting schools, and communities zip code to zip code
  • Develop strong learners by age 5 ready to enter Kindergarten.
  • Create a virtual 'one-stop-shop' regional database for STEM and Grade Level Reading resources.
  • Connect our historically under-served students and parents with certified educators and strategic partners to increase the level of immersion of essential life skills, leadership skills, entrepreneurship, and STEM education.
  • Close the gap of access and inequality of education that exists across the nation through early intervention, strategic collaborative partnerships, and attainable, affordable resources.
