Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month: Code Your Hero with A Uniquely Experience
October 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT
About the workshop:
Join us for Code your Superhero on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 4pm-5:30pm!
For National Hispanic Heritage Month we have tag-teamed with A Uniquely Experience to shift the future of STEAM because we want students to know EVERYONE can learn and #WITHSTEMUCAN change the world.
National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15 to honor the contributions that Hispanic and Latinx Americans have made to U.S. art, culture, and society.
In celebration of diversity, inclusion, and equitable education we’re kicking off a series of virtual workshops through our Building
E-STE(A)M For Youth Partnership Alliance to tag-team with partner organizations led by diverse leaders all over the southeastern U.S.
During this workshop students will:
- Choose an everyday hero from their own life and build a story or game using code that gives their hero superpowers.
- Learn about computer science and Scratch, a programming software
- Learn about a national super hero of Hispanic heritage, Felicitas Mendez
